Who should come?
The class is a mixed level class, primarily aimed at elementary and intermediate dancers, however all levels of dancer are welcome and will benefit. The principles taught, and the development of physical awareness within the context of a social dance, make it equally suitable for all dancers from elementary to advanced.
How is it structured?
The class is an hour and a half. The warm up develops balance, co-ordination and physical awareness. Exercises are used to develop familiarity with techniques that will be applied in the movements to be studied. The class is designed to develop techniques and elements to improve the dancer’s vocabulary and fluency; the practica allows the dancer to put the learning into practice and develop sustained and continuous dance.
Why should I come?
Develop your dance in a challenging but friendly environment. Use the possibility of dancing with more experienced dancers by staying to the Practica. If you are an experienced dancer, the opportunity of dancing with less experienced dancers will help you to develop sensitivity to your partner’s dance ability and temperament.
